Meeting Your Needs as a Patient
Many find it difficult for the body to absorb the proper nutrients after bariatric surgery. This is why it's recommended that patients take bariatric multivitamins for the rest of their lives. When deciding on the best bariatric multivitamin for your specific needs, it is important to be fully informed. Choosing the wrong vitamin can be harsh on your wallet and may even lead to improper vitamin levels, among other health problems.
Ideally, your vitamin should be high quality, cost effective, and meet all of your nutritional needs. That is why we at ProCare Health are dedicated to providing our customers with the best quality vitamins at the best possible prices. Our once-daily vitamins are available in both capsule and tablet form to suit almost any need.
Who Needs Our Bariatric Vitamins?
ProCare Health bariatric multivitamins are once-daily supplements specifically designed for patients who have undergone Adjustable Band, DS Switch, Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, or Mini-Bypass weight loss surgeries (WLS). Patients who have undergone any form of WLS are at risk for vitamin deficiencies. Different types of WLS may lead to different dietary requirements, so it is important that patients are taking supplements that are targeted toward their specific needs.
Recommended Dietary Allowance
The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for bariatric supplements is set by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Our once-daily multivitamins have been formulated to meet the 200% RDA that was set in the updated 2016 ASMBS recommendations. We have spent countless hours ensuring that our vitamins are not just up to industry standard, but also our own. We test all ingredients for quality and purity. Check out our test results.
Iron in our Vitamins
Iron deficiency can lead to anemia, fatigue, and hair loss. Since patients have different dietary needs depending on their procedure, we offer supplements with varying amounts of iron. We have supplements with 18mg for those at low risk of deficiency and 45mg for those at high risk. We also offer versions of our vitamins without iron for patients who prefer to get their iron elsewhere. Consult your doctor if you are unsure which best suits your individual needs.
B12 deficiency can lead to anemia, fatigue, tingling in the hands, and neurological problems. We took extra care to ensure that our multivitamins have an abundance of B12. Each supplement is packed with 1000mcg of B12; the ASMBS recommends at least 350mcg. We also offer a standalone B12 Complex Liquid.
Helping Dietitians Help Patients
In an effort to help make life easier for both patients and professionals, we asked for the most common patient complaints regarding bariatric supplements. The top five are: size, daily dose, taste, texture, and cost.
We then set out to address them all.
Supplement Size and Daily Dose
While the size is average for a supplement, we packed in double the nutrients. This means only one of our capsule or chewable vitamins is needed each day. The chewable wafer is also designed to be broken up into smaller pieces if desired.
Taste and Texture
We are able to pack more vitamins into a single dose because our supplements are made with minimal binders and fillers. Less binders also means less of a chalky taste and texture. The result is a more pleasant tasting chewable, or with our capsule, no taste at all!
Cost is usually the biggest factor for maintaining compliance with patients. If they can’t afford it, they can’t stay compliant. We focused on making our supplement cost-effective. A comparison of top brands shows that patients can save 49-61% a month on supplements with ProCare Health.
Trust and Transparency
To many, it might be “just a vitamin”; however, at ProCare Health; we know how much a quality supplement can affect patient health. Our products undergo a testing regimen that exceeds the industry’s quality expectations. After being produced in a cGMP compliant plant in the USA, every ingredient of every lot is tested, delivering peace of mind to customers, and being a supplement Dietitians can trust. No other company provides that level of testing with transparent results available for everyone to see. Also, our Bariatric Multivitamin with 45mg iron capsule is ConsumerLab.com approved!
Based on independent tests by ConsumerLab.com
ProCare Health consulted the guidelines of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery when developing the contents of our multivitamin. Adherence to the 2016 ASMBS recommendations has resulted in a multivitamin with high absorption of all the necessary post-surgery nutrients.

“This vitamin has made a huge difference in my life! Hands down, the best part is that it is so easy to take. No more struggling every day trying to [get] my vitamin down. AND! My labs were great at my last appointment. After previously needing iron infusions, everything was perfect!
